Flashtopia: Going Digital →
My belief is that in some years all DC Comics comic books will be available in Comixology. I know that for guys of my generation this can sound strange and sometime we tend to feel a little hurt of see our beloved #1 issues available for everybody.
This must be seen as an evolution where information can be accessed by anybody for a few bucks. It happened with music, it is happening with...

Paris Lemon
Just testing this out. I’m not MG Siegler, but I have a theory that the #tech editors, upon seeing the name “Paris Lemon”, instantly choose the post for viewing in the #tech tag category.
Let’s just see what happens.
Paris Lemon. MG Siegler. Test.

Digital Tip Jar.
(republished from Paperkeg)
I like to think of myself as a hip cat. I’m with it.
I use some pretty cool and nerdy apps. One of which is Instapaper. There are many like it these days, but this was the first I tried. Often, you’ll find yourself coming to an article you’d like to read, but would prefer to read it later, so I’d used Instapaper to save that URL, and I could...

– Kottke on what writers he reads daily.
Yes. Yes. Yes.
His entire interview is pretty spot on as well with regards to ditching RSS. Aside from less time to dedicate to stand-alone reader, I find most stuff, if at all, via Twitter anymore.

How Much of Tumblr is Spam?
Honestly?
The site I started with friends over at Paperkeg just crossed 7,000 followers.
Huzzah!
I know that 7,000 followers does not mean that 7,000 people will be willing to interact with you in any fashion. I mean, just look at the top Twitter users. When they post a photo to TwitPic, click on the photo to see how many views it has. Often, it does not correlate at all with how many...

The Evolution Of The New Marvel Comics Fan →
valerierosegallaher:
Me and my husband happened to sit next to a father and son at a restaurant the other day. The dad was reading comics on his iPad, and the 9-year-old boy was quite a fan of the X-Men. Here, in a nutshell, is the chain of events that led to both currently reading comics.
The father, a school-teacher, used to read comic books when he was a kid. You would think that it...

FailTube.
Is YouTube the biggest failure in media delivery history?
How many people use YouTube daily? It’s on iPhones, iPads, Androids, Xboxs, PS3s, Rokus, and whatever the hell else.
Why have they never made a major push for a rental service for movies like Xbox has with the Zune Marketplace or even iTunes? The YouTube app for 360 is better looking the then the damn website.
Everyone knows...
Fucking do it.
I have immense respect for those that just do their own thing and create.
Be arrogant thinking you can do it better than others.
Make 2012 the year you go out there and just fucking do it.

There’s no technical reason that all movies can’t be delivered on their release date to your display device of choice. This is another case of the messenger getting in the way of the message. Movie theaters were invented because there was no other way to show movies. That problem has long been solved. The Megaplex only exists because people keep going there. You can enjoy a...

Why Apple Doesn't Have Podcasts in iCloud.
Because they don’t make any money off of podcasts.

I'm Sick of Negative Kindle Fire Reviews So I...
As I sit here watching Hard Target on the Netflix, I decided it was time to write about my experience with the Kindle Fire so far. Free time wasn’t the main reason, but I’m pretty sick and tired of hearing the poor reviews.
I’m an iPad owner myself, so I can see where the Apple faithful can hold it to such a high standard. Marco Arment’s review is a standout. I’m a...

I Don't Use Instapaper Anymore.
Who knew it would come to this?
With iOS 5 and my recent installation of Mac OS X Lion, I’ve come to love Safari Reader and its Reading list.
With the latest update to Marco Arment’s Instapaper for iOS, however, we’ve become distant friends.
Many folks have applauded the latest updates to Instapaper with its fancy Flipboard-ish design changes as well as its social...

Libsyn, Listeners, & Your Face.
Previously, I’ve written lengthy articles on how I use an iPad, Dropbox, Tumblr, and Feedburner to get my podcasts into iTunes.
With Paperkeg’s loyal listenership sticking around, Dale and I decided to actually use a paid hosting service. This would be the first time I would ever pay for a specific podcast hosting service for any podcast I’ve done.
Way back in the Jerkoff...
Auto Posting Sucks →
kevinmann:
When I came back to this blog I was horrified that it was just pages and pages of my weekly top 5 music artist on last.fm - Any arguably interesting content was lost, hidden under a mass of “dust”.
That auto posted content wasn’t interesting, it was just filler. Who really cares about the top 5 artists, beyond me. No one that stumbles across this blog via linkedIn, twitter...

I'm 28 & Done With Video Games.
Well, for the most part.
When I was growing up, I was pretty much the most hardcore Halo guy I knew. I made some great friends playing that game online, and only ever met them in person once. But, those were guys I would talk to for years.
I wasn’t the kind of guy that would be all hardcore into yelling at folks online, but I was content with making a room with buddies and playing in...

The comiXologist #2 - Fred Van Lente & Crystal... →
Last week I ran my mouth about wanting podcasts to try and do more in-studio interviews, even though it may be impossible for them to do so.
So, the second episode of The comiXologist is out and about and I dusted off my interview chops with Jake. The interview isn’t the entire episode, in fact, it doesn’t start until about 25 minutes in. I’m always hesitant when I look at a...

Thoughts on Skype, Comics Podcasts, And Your Face. →
paperkeg:
Why do anything in the first place if you don’t think you can do it better than anyone else?
I got on my high horse about Skype and comics podcasts. I can’t imagine I’m the only one having these same thoughts.
If I am, I quit.

Who doesn’t love another podcast?
So, at comiXology we started up the podcast again. A reboot, if you will. (Snicker).
If you know me at all, it’s that I don’t care for most creator interviews.
I’m a snob.
My long term goal for this show is to only do in-studio creator interviews. How great would that be? I want to live in a no-Skype world. Help me live in that...

Just One iPhone Model Coming? →
We expect the focus of the new iPhone will be iOS 5, a speedier A5 processor and a higher resolution 8 MP camera with a small possibility of a larger 4 inch screen,” Blair wrote. “We believe the casing will be largely similar to the iPhone with some particular modifications to the antennae [sic]. We don’t expect a second, dramatically different iPhone to accompany this as we don’t think Apple...

iPhone 5 & Your Face
So what’s the deal with all these iPhone rumors?
There seems to be a lot of smoke around two different models coming very soon. One model being the current iPhone 4 form-factor. The second model being one with a larger screen and thinner than the current iPhone 4.
Evidently, one of the models will have an 8MP camera. Sold.
But what the heck does the other one have?
Let’s say...
