The Comics Podcast Archive
The Comics Podcast is when nerdy friends meet to chat about reading comic books new and old. Microphones are present. We’re on the iTunes as well.

Best episode ever? My friends and I got into FEAR ITSELF, and internet phenom, @JonesyLovesBeer gave his Top Lists for 2010 and even the decade! We talked about some holiday Marvel/DC comics and also The Age of Apocalypse hits the digital scene. Nostalgia! The Nobody and Invincible also we talked about. Our book of the week was Mad Love by Bruce Timm and Paul Dini!
Raspy! We got into Wizards year-end awards, yes, they still have a magazine! Then we got into Flash, Irredeemable, Wolverine, Red Robin, Fables, 28 Days Later, Spider-Man and others! Next up was New Frontier! (note: thanks to a rookie technical movie, this episode sounds a bit raspy. My bad!)
Really big show. My friends and I got together to talk some DCU live television, and whether or not the Ultimate Universe is now considered a failure. Then we got into some books; Claremont’s Uncanny X-Men, Superman/Batman, Oz, Spider-Man, Secret Avengers, Thunderstrike, Wolverine: The Best There Is, 10, Captain America, and many, many more. The book of the week was Spider-Man: Reign. Enjoy!
Oh, snap. My friends and I chatted about The Walking Dead on AMC, Dark Horse going digital and then got into some comics; Uncanny X-Men w/ Paul Smith, Batman Beyond, Irredeemable, Ultimate Thor, digital comics ranting, Thunderstrike(!), Sleeper, and others! The book of the week was 1982’s Wolverine limited series. Listen and stuff.
LIVE from the bowels of New Jersey. This show marks the return of show founder, @dale_a. We talked Five Fists of Science, Superior, Mark Miller’s hype skills in general, Dungeons & Dragons, Dark Phoenix Saga, Daken, and finally Sweet Tooth by Jeff Lemire. The original Wolverine limited series will be the book for the next show. Yes!
Here we go! A lot of Batman talk in this one. Batman, Inc., Batman: The Return, Batman & The Monster Men, Flash, Assassin’s Creed and even some Punisher. This weeks book was Authority. It did not go over well.
Well, if you take a 3 hour lunch break, this show has you covered. @MCHenley returned to drop straight absurd knowledge on everyone within earshot. The Walking Dead, JMS abandons his books, Marvel Point One, DCUonline, @JonesyLovesBeer gets drunk, this weeks books, and an absolute love-fest to Astro City.
Not gonna lie, this is my favorite show we’ve ever recorded. We talk about Batman & Robin, Irredeemable, Flash Rebirth, Captain America and then we got into the goods. First, we got into Superman: Earth One. Next, we got into a total love-fest involving Superman: Secret Identity. I command you to buy that book now. Review us and stuff.
Holy smokes, we hit the two hour mark. @MCHenley started the show with a prepared statement about his dislike for The Walking Dead. No one was spared, not even Joss Whedon. We then got into the comic talk, Dark Knight Returns, Superman, New Krypton, Avengers and more. Then, we got into some JLA Earth 2 talk. It got nerdy.
I met up with @JonesyLovesBeer and @farringtonsays to chat some comics. We open the show with the Aronofsky/Wolverine 2 news, Routh as Superman(?). It was breaking at the time, who knows if it still is. We then dove into Uncanny X-Force, Return of Bruce Wayne, DeadpoolMAX, New Avengers, High Moon, War of the Woods, Daken, Superman and a select few other titles. Spoiler, @slim hated mostly everything and went on a ran about comic book editors, if they exist.
We then talked about the giant elephant in the room: All-Star Batman & Robin. It mostly delved into Frank Millers brain, editors, hopes, dreams and ultimately, laughter. Tune in. It was good.
We’re at NYCC! We had some drinks and headed back to our cramped hotel to talk about the day in question. @slim met Stan Lee, thus completing his life long goal. We also talked about meeting come creators, digital books, Erick Larson(!) and a book we’ve read in the last week. Short and sweet, ya dig?
Nerdy comics talk: incoming. My friends and I got together to talk some comics. Scarlet, New Avengers, Flash, We3, Gotham Central, Joker, The Walking Dead, and the Death of Superman were just a few we got into. We also briefly talked about Smallville. Eep. Next weeks show we’ll be talking about the infamous All-Star Batman & Robin. Email your thoughts to comics@nerdcast.org and stuff.
I sat down with the lovely @JonesyLovesBeer and chatted about the books we’ve read over the last week. They included, but are not limited to; the original Weapon X, Shadowland, Steve Rogers, Daytripper and even Batman Beyond. We then got into our talk about Lex Luthor: Man of Steel and also Joker. One of which I didn’t like, and nearly derailed the entire show in the process.
YO! Holy smokes, let’s talk some comics. @JonesyLovesBeer, @marytrain and I talk X-Men, Daredevil, I, Zombie, Wolverine, Spider-Man: One Moment in Time, and we went in depth with Moon Girl and also Preacher. We also got @Rahzzah, artist of Moon Girl to talk some Garth Ennis/Preacher. It was good.
If you dig comics and may or may not think that Superman is lame, do tune in. Myself, @dsaile, and @farringtonsays ran down a few books we’ve read in the last week and then dove nerd-deep into the three Superman origin stories. Which is the best? It got nerdy.
Ok, so we read a lot of books. Myself, @JonesyLovesBeer, and @dale_a chatted it up something fierce about the books we’ve read over the past week, new and old. You name it, PunisherMAX, Ultimate Comics Avengers, We3, Green Lantern, Baltimore, Wolverine, Shadowland, X-Men (from the 1960s!), Walking Dead, Steve Rogers and finally, Y The Last Man. (Not really “finally”, there is a bunch more books talked about) CCCz! If you dig it, review us on the iTunes. We pay in high 5’s. Maybe. Twitter @comicspodcast!
Mmmm, comics. Myself and friends went over the books, new and old, that we’ve read in the past week or so. Notables included Superman for all Seasons, Y the Last Man, X-Files - 30 Days of Night(!), Red Robin, Last Family of Krypton, Robocop, Thor, and also our book club-esque book, Superman - Red Son. @Slim also wanted to commiserate on the end of Wolverine - Origins. Oh, and some CCCz!
Dig comics? After 3 failed attempts we finally were able to record a quality(?) podcast w/@dale_a & @JonesyLovesBeer where we ran down the books we’ve read over the last week, new and old. We ran down some comics news and decided that Superman Red Son would be our read-along book for the next show. Also, some CCCz!
My friend @JonesyLovesBeer and I talk comics for what seemed like 10 minutes. Turns out it was nearly 2 hours. We ran through DC joining the digital fray, Zuda, our weekly books in terms of hits & misses, City of Glass and also @JonesyLovesBeer’s submission to Marvel’s Epic back in the day. Bear in mine that we quickly went over into tangents about how to help Marvel out in the digital area, and also gushed over our favorite books and panels out of nowhere. If you dig comics, you should dig this.
YOWZA! We hit the ground lightly jogging with @dale_a, @marytrain and myself, of course. Wizard World Philly wrap-up, weekly comics winners & loser, FELL chat w/ none other than @JMStump in a guest starring role, and OH…some CCCz.
YEA! We talk some digital comics, the past weeks books, DC: Legacies, SpiderMan: Shed, and @dsaile runs down his hatred for FrankenCastle! This shows book club chat -> Planetary! Don’t forget CCCz!
YOWZA! It’s time to talk comics up in this piece. First show stars none other than @slim, @dale_a & @marytrain. We hit up some Iron Man 2, the previous weeks books we picked up, @TonyTrov & @JohnnyZito called in to talk some about their badass books. Then we bookclubbed it up and chatted it about Powers V1 and Scott Pilgrim. It was gooood. Next show we’ll be chatting about Planetary V1 & FELL. Borrow those books to be in on the show with us. xoxo
